Ah - Won is fine. Soo-won makes me feel as though I'm about to be scolded...
[this isn't entirely true but it's cool]
A few, actually. Perhaps it's the looming threat of having our memories taken from us soon.... but well, it seems like conversation has been flowing rather swiftly.
[ she doubts most people can even remember the details from their life a week before, and that's nothing to cry over. though she blinks at his assessment, letting her gaze droop demurely. ]
Well, if we're being honest... I get scared so easily, I have to think this way or I won't know what to do with myself.
[even as her gaze drops and she tells him otherwise - he shakes his head after taking a sip of his tea]
You don't need to sound disheartened by that - if anything people might find that level of honesty even scarier. If it's what you need to do in order to keep moving forward, then no one should try to take it from you.
[though he offers that up gently. it's just what he thinks... but he won't hide from sharing his opinion either]
Mm... I suppose I've decided we simply have to succeed and reclaim all our memories. Even if I worry over what I might lose... weighed against possibly saving the extended universe -
It's harder, to want to be selfish over something temporary.
If it's okay for me to be who I need to be, shouldn't you be allowed to be a little selfish?
[ even if they do have to save the universe or whatever, she doesn't expect or want everyone to be too selfless about it. there's a smile in her voice though, teasing. ]
he laughs a little bit even as he looks up to the stars as if they'll help him tell his story]
Kan Tae-Jun - the second son of the Fire Lord - but not particularly skilled in much. He was not the favored son of a military-based leadership, without strategy or swordsmanship to his name. However he was suddenly sent to a part of their lands - desolate, struggling to find a way to cultivate their crops - and as you could guess, he wasted away a bit.
He found it hard to find his footing, struggling without the protection of his brother. Famine and illness etched itself into the framework of the town, plaguing its citizens... and he, a lord without hope for help, was suddenly scrambling.
It's sad, isn't it? When those tasked to rule are unable to do so.
It certainly is. Though I feel worse for his people than for him.
[ the duke of her territory is perfect in every way, can't relate. but even if she has zero interest in politics, hilda finds herself kind of annoyed watching nobles make a mess of things. ]

I guess it makes sense to share your thoughts and memories in case we lose them, huh?
[ must be tough for all those secretive loners out there. ]
That's how it normally works though. You naturally forget things, especially if you don't talk about them often.
[ so she doesn't seem to treat it as a huge deal here, either, sipping at her tea. ]

[memories are rather fluid - he's pretty agreeable about that much]
You have a surprisingly relaxed take on matters, though. That's impressive in and of itself, I think.

[ don't be impressed. ]
You don't seem too bothered yourself.

Though I've also been called an airhead, so perhaps it's that.

You do seem a little like an airhead.
no subject
[no he's an airhead
but at the mention of her words, soo-won just smiles]
Oh, that's true. I wonder what I should get to be a little selfish about? When I take my tea time, maybe....
no subject
Well, you're always welcome to be selfish around me.
[ she won't tattle. ]
And by that I mean you should definitely have tea with me more often. You're fun to talk to! Even if I don't have any juicy secrets to give you.
no subject
[but he smiles at that - apparently pleased with the tea invitation as well as the compliment]
You're enjoyable company as well - is the tea to your liking? The stars?
no subject
I could spend all day here... It's perfect.
[ well, mostly. tea bags and electric kettles don't make for a perfect brew, and it's not a real sky, but she says it like she means it. ]
Though actually, I can think of a few things that'd make it better. Why don't you tell me a story?
[ whether it's a memory, a fable, whatever. it's either that or she asks for a song. ]
no subject
I don't know how much of a bard I am... but I can certainly try.
I only have one thing to request: I'd like a story from you in exchange. Deal?
no subject
[ She's no troubadour either, but there's plenty of monastery hijinks to choose from. ]
Let me hear it, Won!
no subject
The tale of an incompetent noble son made into a proud farmer?
[he's roasting someone but hilda will never know]
no subject
[ huh. interesting. ]
That's definitely something I'd like to hear.

[sure,,

So, what happened to him?
