[ she says flippantly, flicking through the displays. ] There's so much to know. I've got so much depth I could fit like four Krakens in there. Maybe five.
but then he'll take the bracelet that he showed her earlier - of the same alternating polished green and blue stones - and take it off his wrist, before looping and fastening it on hers]
[ if he touches her long enough to notice, he'll find her skin is like, unnaturally cold! ]
Oh. [ she says, dumbly, staring down at the bracelet. ] Well, okay. Count down until I find out this is the only identifying thing you have on you as the like, secret heir to a massive trading company and the assassins descend on me thinking I'm you.
That's a type of candy, yes? I've been trying to learn.
[he wants a library SO BAD but he'll at least stop touching his face
and just manages a soft smile]
In all seriousness [not really] the gems on that bracelet are from a festival in Chi'shin, the capitol of the Earth Tribe. For now, we'll match. [he does a stupid little swivel back and forth to demonstrate how the gems glisten on his neck] They're fun to wear, and they have a story behind them!
but he'll excitedly tell the story!! he changes his stance like he's holding onto a sword and is excitedly waving it about for emphasis]
Fufu, they're the gems of Lord Geun-tae's most amazing victory!! During the series of War Games conducted at the lively Earth Kingdom Festival, Lord Geun-tae, the famous general of King Joo-nam's reign was able to triumph against not one, not two, but five other swordsmen in combat!
They're gems that speak of his bravery, courage, and loyalty to his men - that ultimately won victory and honor for his side! Mm, how cool, Lord Geun-tae!
Ahaha, no, but I do interact with his family now and again while I'm in town. Especially since the gems got more popular!
But it was a game where there were two teams - red and white - and each member was assigned a role. The Commoner, the Noble, and the King. Of course the general Geun-tae was the King of the red army!
Each wore a plate on their heads - [and he'll go to pick up another plastic bowl of pins, placing it atop his head] - and if you broke the plate, it'd be points for your side! Commoners were one point, Nobles were five, and the King, ten! Members of equal rank could break each other's plates, but Commoners can't break the Noble's, Nobles can't break the King's, and Kings can't break the Commoner's. It was part strategy as well.
[which geun-tae was bad at, and soo-won was good at but it's ok it was all to make a point]
Really exciting! By the final battle, Geun-tae was the only member left standing of his team. Ah, my heart's pounding just thinking about it!
[ as she speaks, she's pinning random pins to her robes. ]
Oh, so it's like some huge event, got it. [ she's just curious as to why he's got these - but this explanation makes it sounds like soo-won is wearing the equivalent of a raiders jersey so her curiosity is satisfied. ]
You nerd, calm down. [ she says, but it's affectionate. ] It sounds exciting.
[ she pins a skull to her her sleeve, and then one that says my soul was removed to make room for all this sarcasm right above it. ]
Yeah, I'm one of those people. I could probably swing a few hours in another reality. [ why not, right. ] Man, you move quick, don't you? Already inviting me to the renaissance faire, it's been like two days.
[ (woo woo voice) let's get crunk and watch the war games ]
Sure, sure. Tell you what, let's figure out what it is we're up against first and then I'll think about blessing you with my presence at your Medieval Times Dinner Theater.

I haven't yet, but I'm not discounting the possibility that I might in the future. Those suckers are nasty.

[he just assumes they'll keep chatting even after they leave this place
but he'll hum as he continues to go over the shelves... no clay...]
... perhaps our hosts would be able to give us some clay once we meet them?

If they ever pull their heads out of their asses long enough to organize a meeting, maybe. It'll be the third question on my list.

What are items one and two?
[and then he'll turn to her - ]
Would you mind extending your hand then?

[ eloquent, lup. there's a pause, as she peeks at him from behind the counter. squinting, she does, in fact, hold out her hand. ]

That's rad as hell. [ she agrees, laughing. ] War Games, huh, like a big tournament sort of thing? Are you like, related to this guy somehow?

Have you heard of the people who can travel between worlds? Maybe we can too, and I can take you to one someday.
