[ah. that gets a slight shrug from him, a wave of one hand.]
I have ever been more fond of observation than participation-- though there is always some enjoyment to be found in creation, and in the results of one's handiwork.
A start, at least. If there is anything at all to be gleaned from this place and the others gathered here, it is better than what we all began with-- whether it is an escape route or no.
Unfortunately it's not very much that's in our favor...
It seems like a number of abilities have disappeared - in particular those magical in nature, along with weapons that are normally carried around. Not to mention everyone here comes from entirely different worlds and time periods both.
So we're dealing with a force that's very powerful, and wants us to be unarmed.
Troubling, to think all of our inherent abilities could be stifled so, and that we all could have been gathered from afar. It speaks to no small amount of power, though I hope those who sent that message do not wield it.
help him
Ah, you're right. I suppose I was just trying to determine if they're meant to serve any function at all?
Would you like to try them on? It is rather funny.
no
[specifically because he was walked into, this might not be a problem otherwise.]
I will leave them to you.
[grandpa is not hip with shutter shades...]

[and as a result soo-won will now lift the shades so that they rest atop his head, which still looks dumb.]
May I pose a different question to you, sir? Or perhaps, more than one...
no subject
[or at least just wear them around other people? this is also acceptable, really.
he tilts his head slightly at the question, then with a smaller sigh, waves a hand.]
You may ask, yes, though I make no promises about your answers.
no subject
[too agreeable!]
My name is Won - could I ask for your name in return?
My follow-up question is if there's anything you might enjoy.
no subject
[there's no 'pleased to meet you' here, not much true acknowledgment-- just the slightest nod.]
And I should be surprised if anyone found enjoyment here.
no subject
[he'll say it!! but then he'll just laugh]
Certainly not here - we've all probably been kidnapped.
But I meant in general, I suppose. Music? The arts? Food?

no subject
I see!
So is that why you've mostly taken to observing everyone else here, rather than participating?
no subject
Both that and the apparent lack of any true progress to be made. For the time being, it seems proactivity serves all of us poorly enough.
no subject
So have you been bored since we arrived?
no subject
no subject
[and he cannot tell if this man actually enjoys doing so]
no subject
[the overly agreeable thing, yet again.]
And has it led you to anything of use, or simply lent itself to remaining occupied?
no subject
[he admits that easily]
I've had one theory solidified, though nothing actually of use for actual action plans to our escape I'm afraid.

[what a nice way to phrase it]
May I ask what abilities you're missing?
no subject
['a little scattered' may be an understatement...]
But it seems something here is able to dampen magic.
no subject
[they're probably incompetent but he'll be nice about it for now,]
Ah, more magic... I'm surprised by how many worlds have it.
no subject
[there's a little more noticeable curiosity, there.]
no subject
I suppose... there is some magic, rare as it is, that is almost a marriage to mythology, in my world.
no subject
[a considering hum, there.]
Then it is certain to be far removed from mine. It is part of the very world-- of life itself.
