A start, at least. If there is anything at all to be gleaned from this place and the others gathered here, it is better than what we all began with-- whether it is an escape route or no.

Unfortunately it's not very much that's in our favor...

It seems like a number of abilities have disappeared - in particular those magical in nature, along with weapons that are normally carried around. Not to mention everyone here comes from entirely different worlds and time periods both.

So we're dealing with a force that's very powerful, and wants us to be unarmed.

Troubling, to think all of our inherent abilities could be stifled so, and that we all could have been gathered from afar. It speaks to no small amount of power, though I hope those who sent that message do not wield it.

They're a little scattered, aren't they? We'll have to see if their time to truly prepare to meet us has paid off.

I like to think of it as a combination of optimism and realism.

I suppose... there is some magic, rare as it is, that is almost a marriage to mythology, in my world.

Then it is certain to be far removed from mine. It is part of the very world-- of life itself.

Ah - so... everyone in the world gets to wield magic? Is it something that they're born with the ability to tap into?

Not all. There are those born without the innate ability, who must turn instead to other means to advance and defend themselves from such nations that do wield it. But whether they may access it or not during their lives, all return to the aether.
