Relieved, confused, but.... I would take that over the alternative.

Yes. I would too. [ there’s very real relief in her voice, even as she looks down at the table where her nails are picking absently at the wood. ]

I don’t really want to think about how things might’ve been if anything had gone... well, wrong. Or like it usually does.

... it's hard to think that we should come to expect this to happen again, though. Even if it's a blessing...

We can't allow ourselves to become complacent - else the next time will only hurt more.

I know. I'm... trying to figure out what happened, or how it happened. But it's impossible to say. If we're assuming it's an item, assuming there's a duplicate as well would be a bit too risky.

I just want to be happy right now. And enjoy it while it lasts. At least we know we can change things, even if it isn't easy or guaranteed.
