I simply hope to understand the 'why' regardless, and get to know that person better, based on their reasoning. It is a heavy thing, to carry the weight of taking a life by yourself.
But I think most people have shouldered heavy things most of their lives, even if it isn't that particular example. Don't take on too much for the sake of others that it weighs you down even more.
