I find myself preparing just in case - because I think that there are parts of myself that I'd rather hate to lose, or pieces of history that none know but I. And perhaps those moments don't matter in the grand scheme of things, in the face of human legacy...
But they matter to me, and I think that's reason enough.

When I was young I even thought that I'd become part of the military to follow after my father, stand beside him, and give my life for him. His intelligence and courage are still unmatched as far as I'm concerned!
