... it seems as though you had to engage in quite a few battles. I'm glad that you're alright.
[also he fucking sees you trying to obscure the burn on your arm, sora, he's going to hold his hand out to reach for it once he's done rebandaging and tightening your ankle and leg burns]
[that's not even including the finger and the two humanoid figures that dropped from the ceiling. but also he...realizes that he can't avoid that, so he holds out his right arm. there's a weird burn on it! and by weird i mean it's shaped kind of like a tentacle smacked right into it in the space around his forearm and elbow.]
Yeah, but...it sort of felt familiar. I'm used to fighting stuff. Thanks though. I'm just glad the others got out without being too badly hurt, too.
Painful things that would attack at our hearts - and it seemed that our consciousness and responses were linked to the monsters that Ochako and Archer were fighting.
They really made it into a competition just like this place. That sounds awful. ["i'm sorry."] One of the monsters we fought were people from our memories, too, but...I didn't mind fighting him again.
Well, we were revived. Did they not mention this to you?
[though he'll continue anyway - ]
Xie Lian and I suddenly felt bloodthirsty and murderous - and Archer and Ochako had to end our lives again in order to subdue us. Eventually we were revived... again...
And then we exited after finding some information.
I wanted to hear it from your perspective. [also no, none of his pcs are far enough yet that anyone mentioned this.]
This is gonna sound weird but...did it feel like you and Xie Lian were able to control your own thoughts? Or like someone else was doing the thinking for you? [he has reasons for asking.] Dying twice isn't exactly what I'd call great.
Mm.... You'll have to ask Xie Lian what he experienced. [just to be thorough but - ] I felt in control of my own thoughts, and like I was making my own decisions - though the situations I was placed in were rather... stacked against me.
Why?
[and he nods]
We found a report. Did you not receive anything at the end of your troubles?
I'll go back and ask him when he's feeling a little better. And I guess I'm just thinking about what Rabbit said last week. About how a person may not feel like themselves when they kill someone else. I know Virid did it on purpose, but...it's also something that's happened where I'm from a couple of times.
[he shakes his head.] We didn't get anything, but I keep thinking about what Xeha--the monster said to us before we got knocked out. Just because it was almost too weird.
When we were turned into monsters... that's when I felt the most out of control of my body. I'd never felt such intense bloodlust before - or at all. While I'm no stranger to war... that's not something I've experienced.
[that's what he was wondering, and the frown on his face says that's the answer he was looking for.
to soo won's question though, he looks off to the distance to remember precisely.]
It asked..."do you believe you can change destiny? Time has already been written. There's nothing you can do, is there? Except try, try again. But you'll never make it."
When time froze, after I hit his sword with mine, he said: "not yet. But remember, this is your last chance."
[...maybe he's overreacting, but considering the circumstances it is strange.]
We are looping in time? And each time, we forget our memories of what happened when we were brought here? And this attempt here at the Realm is our final attempt to right things?
If there is the possibility of our memories being scrambled, I suppose....
[he hums thoughtfully and proceeds to recite this report, noting where it might be blacked out. yes he recites it from memory bc he's a braincell but i, dana, am not]
Now - we have to take into consideration if these are the Leaders that we know, if this report was written within the past week, or perhaps within another loop of time -
I don't know. But out of everything that happened there, it was the one thing that didn't really fit the whole creepy scientist human experimentation thing. It only happened when Alex and I were in the final fight, and only when I blocked.
If the nova really is our memories and it's missing, it could be we've lost more of it in ways we don't even know yet.
[but he dutifully shuts up to listen to the report.]
...we know that the leaders don't remember anything except for coming here, setting things up for us, and trading their memories to help us from losing ours right away. Have you heard about why we're connected to space right now?
Mm, not exactly. I asked Swan about it when we first met in town, and they said that they're places where the flow of nova's been disturbed. So, they're like memories of places instead of the real places themselves. No people or anything. The places are just places. Not really our memories, and not really theirs.
I asked one of the others for more information about it and they said that it's like...the bridge is like a gateway that'll connect us to different places. The place we can access now is probably going to disappear soon when the Realm connects us to somewhere else.
Yeah. It's...when Swan told me, it reminded me of these sleeping worlds Riku and I went to. They're worlds that became unstable and fell to the darkness, but even when the threat was gone they weren't entirely revived. A new kind of monster appeared, and we had to learn how to use our powers to defeat them and bring the worlds back to the light.
If the Realm is showing us places that were disturbed before Virid killed Hajime...it is possible they're places we've been before that we just don't remember now.
But that report also doesn't totally sound like a bad thing.
[ . . . . he listens but he understands so little of kingdom hearts lore, I'm sorry, Sora. but like. he does see how it's applied to this situation so it's okay]
Mm. I didn't think so either - if anything, it sounds as though the Leaders may be people who are familiar to us.
Even if this report was written recently, it's worth looking into. Have you gotten close to the leaders yourself? I've been wanting to see underneath their masks....
[that's okay sora also understands so little of kingdom hearts lore. all he cares about is that his point seems to have gotten across.]
It's one of the first questions I thought to ask them when we met. But it didn't feel fair to actually ask when they weren't sure themselves. I asked Fox if they knew each other and they said it was possible, so that adds up, too.
I've been trying to get to know all of them. Blanca told me you were doing the same. [and now he's finally getting to part of why he wanted to talk to soo-won earlier than this. they will have to loop back to actual murder in a bit.] Have you talked to them a lot?
[murder what murder only alien with knife on the moon
anyway,,]
"A lot" is a bit subjective - I like talking to people in general, so I've seen... perhaps most of them by now? I haven't gotten a chance to greet them all individually in private though.
They keep saying it's their job to talk to us, but I'm sure they're busy, too. There's so much I want to ask them though, especially after what happened with Virid.
[...] Have you heard about the way the Realm manifests things? And the execution last week?
Are you asking if I inquired why they used a guillotine specifically? Because no, I can't say I broached that topic.
[it's like
a lot
and soo-won also just wants to get know them as people mostly, he's so useless for plot i'm sorry sora]
Though I do understand that the Realm making us vote through the PHS system was part of it manifesting its will - and also pulling from memories of what is commonly done in other worlds, hence why we participated in a trial to solve a murder.
[apparently that's common. do they have courts or lawyers in akayona? i don't fucking know]
no subject

he looks gently alarmed at that as he listens]
... it seems as though you had to engage in quite a few battles. I'm glad that you're alright.

[unlike the other group which. woo. boy.]
no subject
.... mm. Our trial was a bit... different.
Had you heard from the others already?
no subject
You and Xie Lian were in that...simulation, I guess. Right?
no subject
Mm, that's correct.
We were forced to encounter... emotional ordeals - I suppose that's the best way to describe it.
no subject
...things from the heart? [hm.] Were there like memories, or just things that would try to hurt you?
no subject
[he gives a brief nod at that]
Painful things that would attack at our hearts - and it seemed that our consciousness and responses were linked to the monsters that Ochako and Archer were fighting.
When they won, Xie Lian and I lost.
no subject
...how did you guys get back out then?
no subject
Well, we were revived. Did they not mention this to you?
[though he'll continue anyway - ]

Ah - not exactly. Is it related to the Leaders' memories?
[it was a theory but no one that he'd gotten confirmed]
no subject
I asked one of the others for more information about it and they said that it's like...the bridge is like a gateway that'll connect us to different places. The place we can access now is probably going to disappear soon when the Realm connects us to somewhere else.
no subject
Makes... sense, or as much as anything can make sense with that much magic in play.
[please he is such
a magic baby]
But if the Realm truly is the connecting point for many different universes, I suppose that's not entirely a surprise.
no subject
If the Realm is showing us places that were disturbed before Virid killed Hajime...it is possible they're places we've been before that we just don't remember now.
